Liebster Award
Gary, who blogs at Yummy Lummy clearly appreciates great food and shares his passion with the world. But he is also a gracious and generous encourager of other bloggers and has so very thoughfully nominated fineeating for a Liebster Award.
As part of the nomination I need to answer Gary’s 10 questions and then nominate another 10 other bloggers whose blogs I admire, asking them 10 things I’d like to know about them.
So here are Gary’s 10 questions for me and my answers:
What’s the best meal you’ve ever cooked?
Christmas 2012 – I love the challenge of catering for large groups of friends with small tastes of lots of beautiful foods.
What’s your favourite meal?
Pistchio’s Trio of entrees and Tasting plate of all desserts
What food makes you remember your childhood? Pelmeni – my Russian grandmother always had these in the freezer, apparently they transported well across the frozen tundra.
What is your dream meal?
Dinner at Indian Accent in Delhi with 11 friends which means a) we can order everything on the menu to try b) we must be on a foodie tour of India together.
What recipe are you planning that you’re excited about?
Trying out dessert tasting plates of my own
Share something unique/weird about you in the context of food
My very favourite food is traditional Indian sweets, so beautiful, sooo sweet, especially good eaten while in India.
Name one food person who you admire and why?
I know this just says one person but it’s a toss up between Christine Manfield – author of ‘Tasting India’ , TV presenter and food travel to India guide or Chantelle O’Brien – the Aussie author of the Penguin Food Guide to India who has travelled around India to introduce us to the history, styles and eateries of regional Indian food. I’d love their jobs!
What is your favourite kitchen appliance and why?
My freezer – I love having small portions of lots of delicious foods on hand so I never have to waste a dining opportunity.
Name one technique or strategy that is working well for your blog right now
Using lots of photos – food and Asia is just so beautiful
Name one food related app or tool that you can’t live without.
My iphone camera – I photograph all food ‘events’ to savor the memory

What is your favourite meal of the day and why?
If you could eat every meal for a day at a different spot in Canberra, where would you go and what would you have?
How do you like to order from a menu? (Do you choose favourites, always try something new, look for the best, share with friends, pick dessert first, read the on-line reviews first?)

What is your best tip for food blogging success?
